Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer in which you can recieve from to much exposure to any group of minerals that can be fibrous (asbestos). It most commonly occurs in the outter part of your lung and chest cavity (pleura), but it can also be found in the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritonium) or the sac that surrounds your heart (pericardium). What happens is malignant cells develop in the membrane that forms the lining of several body cavities (mesothelium).

Most commonly, mesothelioma is spread in jobs in which asbestos is in the air particles that you breathe in. For example, miners commonly inherit this type of cancer. You can also get it in a "second hand" way. If you breathe the air of someone else who has breathed asbestos air particles, it is possible that you can catch the diesese. So you really have to be careful.

Mesothelioma can be deadly to some. If you find out that you have any type of this cancer, you should definately consider calling and seeing your health care professional. Even if you think you may have caught the diesese, just call your healthcare professional. So just always be aware.
